All pianos are thoroughly prepared before delivery.

Straightforward delivery (that is delivery I can safely do myself) within Hawkes Bay, Taupo & Turangi is generally free and we subsidise the cost of delivery further afield.

Buying staight from the internet without seeing and hearing a piano first is unwise, although I know some piano businesses activly encourage this. I strongly recommend that you visit us, see, play and hear the instruments before you make your choice.

Sound older traded in pianos are often available. All are tuned at A-440 and are adequate, if not ideal for a beginner. They are only available for personal shoppers and can often be bought for a few hundred dollars including tuning & straightforward local delivery!!

 Lipp

Not an ordinary old piano!   Built in 1901, this model is considered by many to be the best upright piano ever made but of course, I couldn't possibly comment! It is pretty much in original condition. The action is sound and reliable. It has a true, clear, "Richard Lipp" tone. The sconces enhance the walnut finished cabinet.

 Wertheim 121

Just a year old and almost indistinguishable from new!  Gold series 121cm tall professional quality instrument. A matching double stool is included. A warm European toned piano finished in black polish.

 Seeger

A moderate quality English piano built in Liverpool in the 1950s. This piano has a pleasing tone and a sound, responsive action. I have maintained it for the last 20 years and it has proven to be reliable. It was used by a student who was successful in passing grade 8 piano. A tidy mahogany finish.

 Brasted

The saying "don't judge a book by its cover" applies to me. I'm scruffy but I produce a clear singing tone and my overhauled action is responsive to play. Ian says that if I am still here when he has the time to do it, he will repolish me but that would push my price up to $3,000 +.

 Zender

An English piano built about 1960. The action of this instrument was overhauled a few years ago and the piano has been on hire ever since. It is a pleasant sounding piano and is now available for sale or hire. It is suitable for a student up to and including the middle grades. Mahogany finish.

 Zender

A tiny six octave English piano built in the 1960s. I don't recommend a six octave instrument if you can find the space for a full size seven or seven and a quarter octave model. However, is space really is limited then this little gem is a worthy compromise requiring only 115 cm of wall space. A tidy, serviced instrument. Mahogany finish.

Yamaha U1

This Steigerman piano is in fact a Yamaha U1. It is a very tidy example of this popular model. I have tuned this piano regularly for the last 15 years. The fully serviced action shows very little wear and is in excellent condition. A musicians instument with an excellent warm tone. Red mahogany cabinet. A matching duet stool is included.

The Zeitter & Winkelmann pianola in the arcade was built in 1928. It belongs to and is being prepared for sale by my old mate, Ray Cade who is a piano technician based on the Kapiti Coast. Ray is getting on a bit now and doesn't understand these new fangled web site things and so I have offered him this 'arcade' to help him find good homes for his remaining piano treasure. I don't know any more about it and suggest you contact Ray for more information.
